Calvin Guo (b. 2002, San Diego, California) lives and works in Chicago, IL. He is currently studying Painting and Drawing at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He previously attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he studied electrical engineering before transferring. His practice focuses on figurative oil paintings that explore the subjects of space, peripheral, and institutions.
Calvin is currently an exhibiting artist and board member of TOSSAROSE Art Collective. TOSSAROSE is a Chicago-based art collective founded by Calvin Guo, Harry Lee, Elijah Ross, and Zeynep Karahasan. Calvin has exhibited in TOSSAROSE group shows such as First Petal, Metempsychosis, and The Day After.
